Prof Baumberg has now published a popular (social) science book, “The Secret Life of Science: How it Really Works and Why it Matters” which describes how science is now like an ecosystem, with extreme competition skewing what happens.

You can get it on Amazon or from PUP, and also see his blog and surveys at The Science Monster.
